Hospice of Lansing ,
receives state-wide accolades
Lansing, MI – March 4, 2014 - Hospice of Lansing , a local, nonprofit, community-based
independent hospice, is the proud recipient of the Hospice and Palliative Care
Association of Michigan’s 2014 Award of Excellence.
The Hospice and Palliative Care
Association of Michigan is a state-wide organization with over 100 members. This
is the first year this prestigious award will be given to any organization and
they chose Hospice of Lansing as its first recipient. The Award of Excellence recipients embody a
commitment to hospice care, including: dedication in the community for more
than five years, commitment to professional and personal development of their
staff and volunteers (as well as recognition), partnerships that serve to
increase the access to knowledge of end of life care in the community and the
use of innovative approaches to meet the needs of patients, families or community
members.
“We are honored to be recognized
by our peers for the outstanding service we provide to the mid-Michigan
community,” said John Person, Hospice of Lansing’s Executive Director. “We face
many challenges as a non-profit, community-based and local hospice. Our team is
dedicated to the care of those we serve and faces those challenges with that one
thought in mind. I’m proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization
serving this community.”
The award will be presented at
the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Michigan’s (HPCAM) annual
conference at the Lansing
Convention Center in May,
2014.
